Operation Jairo Medis the mission through which Sea Shepherdprotects loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta Caretta) along the Mediterranean coasts. Volunteers patrol nesting beaches to locate and secure nests from disturbance and poaching. Collaboration with research institutions and local associations allows for monitoring of nest hatching and strengthening protection throughout the entire breeding season. Those who wear this stand alongside those who patrol the beaches to give new generations of sea turtles an extra chance.
