Operation Jairo Med is Sea Shepherd's mission to protect loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta Caretta) along the Mediterranean coasts. Volunteers patrol nesting beaches to identify nests and secure them from disturbance and poaching. Collaboration with research institutions and local associations allows for monitoring nest hatching and strengthening protection throughout the entire breeding season. Those who wear this stand alongside those patrolling the beaches to give new generations of sea turtles an extra chance.
