Operation Anguilla is Sea Shepherd's mission to combat the poaching of European eel glass eels, a species now critically endangered. Working undercover with the Guardia di Finanza and Carabinieri Forestali, volunteers conduct investigations, documentation, and anti-poaching activities along the Italian coast. These operations lead to the seizure of illegal equipment, penalties for poachers, and the release of live glass eels back into the sea, giving them a better chance of survival. Wearing this means taking a stand against a silent trade that is driving a species to extinction.
